Shipping Policy

SECTION 1: DELIVERY (Embroidery Kits, Supplies, Bundles)

All items and sections except for "Leather" section:

I currently dispatch orders on Tuesdays and Fridays only. If your order was placed between Friday and Monday, it will be shipped the following Tuesday, if placed between Tuesday and Thursday, it will be shipped on Friday. 

I reserve the right to take up to 2 weeks to ship your order in certain circumstances. I could be unwell, travelling or waiting for stock.

Approximate Business Days:

  • 🇬🇧 United Kingdom - 2 to 3 Days.
  • 🇬🇧 Northern Ireland - 4 to 10 Days.
  • 🇺🇸 United States - 7 to 14 Days.
  • 🇨🇦 Canada - 7 - 14 Days.
  • 🇪🇺 EU - 4 to 14 Days.
  • 🇦🇺 International - 7 to 21 Days.

Please note that these estimates are for shipping only and do not include the fulfilment time which is updated regularly if there are significant changes.

NOTICE: All delivery times provided are estimates based on recent shipping trends. I cannot guarantee specific delivery dates due to potential delays caused by customs, couriers, or other external factors beyond my control. Delivery Days may extend around seasonal festivities.

 

SECTION 2: INTERNATIONAL ORDERS (IMPORT DUTIES & TAXES)

🇺🇸 USA (United States)

Effective August 29th, 2025, the United States has ended the $800 de minimis exemption for all international shipments, regardless of origin.

This means all parcels sent to the U.S. will now be subject to import duties and/or flat-rate charges, even if the total value is below $800. The method of shipping now plays a significant role in how charges are applied:

📮 If shipping via Government or National Postal Networks (e.g. Royal Mail, Evri, DPD, USPS)

  • Flat-rate import charges of $80–$200 per parcel or face value-based tariffs (known as ad valorem duties) will be applied for the first 6 months.
  • After this, shipments will face value-based tariffs (known as ad valorem duties).

🚚 If shipping via UPS, FedEx, or DHL (Third-Party Couriers)

  • Duties are calculated as a percentage of your order’s total value (items + shipping).
  • UK-origin goods face: 10% tariff
  • brokerage/handling fee of ~$12–$14 is typically added by UPS or other couriers.

🔁 CURRENT TARIFFS ON GOODS BY ORIGIN

🇬🇧 UK-Origin Goods

  • 4–7% ad valorem duty (U.S. customs category dependent)
  • +10% U.S. baseline tariff (April 2025 ruling)
  • Affects all VIKASSPACE products including but not limited to: Embroidery Kits, Leather Goods, Market-Ready Products and more.

🇨🇳 Chinese-Origin Goods

  • 4–7% ad valorem duty (product dependent)
  • +30% U.S. tariff (active since May 2025)
  • Applies regardless of shipping country
  • Includes: Enamel Needle Minders and Scissors

📦 Important: When a parcel contains both UK and Chinese-origin goods, the entire order value + shipping is tariffed at the highest applicable rate (e.g. 30%).

⚠️ SHIPPING NOTICE FOR CHINESE 🇨🇳 ORIGIN GOODS

If your order includes Chinese-origin products (e.g. enamel needle minders or scissors), select Courier (This will be the only option available from August 22nd) at checkout.

  • Postal shipments (passed to USPS) are charged a flat fee of $80–$200 per parcel.
  • Courier avoids the flat fee, but all contents + shipping are tariffed at 30%, and a $12–$14 brokerage fee applies.

📦 Example:

  • $20 of Chinese-origin product
  • $80 of UK product
  • $100 subtotal incl. shipping
  • Entire $100 taxed at 30% = $30 tariff + $14 UPS fee = $44 total import charge

By placing an order with me, you AGREE to pay any import duties, taxes, or tariffs required by your country’s customs authorities. Failure to pay may result in delays, returns, or package destruction. I cannot offer refunds in such cases.

Northern Ireland (NI) 🇬🇧

From 1 May 2025, new UK–EU customs rules (The Windsor Framework) mean that we need to include extra customs information when sending parcels from Great Britain to Northern Ireland.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Customs Declarations: Your parcel will be sent with detailed customs info (description, value, origin).
  • Possible Charges: Occasionally, parcels may be subject to customs checks or import duties. If this happens, these charges are the responsibility of the customer.
  • Delays: These changes may also cause occasional delays while your parcel is being processed at customs.

I don't currently have a business presence or customs representative based in Northern Ireland, therefore this may affect how your parcel is handled. I'm working on ways to make this smoother, and we’ll keep you updated as things develop.

European Union (EU) 🇪🇺

Following the United Kingdom's departure from the EU, customers in EU member states may be subject to VAT, import duties, and handling charges.

VAT and customs duties will be managed by your local customs or postal service. 

CPTPP Countries 🇨🇦

Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Peru, Chile, Brunei, Malaysia, Mexico and Vietnam

As part of the UK’s membership in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), many of my products, such as embroidery kits, are eligible for 0% tariffs in participating countries. However:

  • Local VAT (Often 20%), GST, or other consumption taxes may still apply.
  • Customs processing or handling fees may be charged by your local authority.

GCC Countries 🇦🇪 

Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE

  • Orders shipped to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are subject to import duties and taxes, including a standard 5% customs duty on most goods. 
  • Additionally, Value Added Tax (VAT) may apply, typically at a rate of 5%, depending on the country.

These charges are determined by the local customs authority in the destination country and are not included in the price of your order at checkout.

NOTE: As of January 2025, the United Kingdom and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are actively negotiating a Free Trade Agreement. The sixth round of negotiations concluded in February 2024, with both parties committed to finalising a comprehensive and modern agreement. We are closely monitoring the progress of these negotiations and will keep our customers informed about any developments that may benefit your shopping experience with us.

International Destinations

For countries outside the EU, USA, GCC or CPTPP regions:

  • Import duties, VAT, and handling charges are determined by your local customs authority and are the customer’s responsibility. Please check your local government website before ordering.
  • Failure to pay these charges may result in the package being returned to me. Additional postage costs for reshipping will be covered by the customer. Refunds of postage are not offered in this respect.

Shipping Address: Please ensure that your shipping address is accurate and complete when placing your order. I cannot be held responsible for any delays, misdelivery, or non-delivery due to incorrect or incomplete addresses provided by the customer.
