Zion National Park
Nerd facts:
Zion wasn’t always called Zion—its original name was Mukuntuweap, which is probably the coolest word you’ll read today, and it means “straight canyon” in the local Paiute language.
Believe it or not, there are real dinosaur tracks hidden in the park’s rock layers, so you’re literally walking where dinosaurs once roamed. And in some canyon walls, you’ll find hanging gardens—like little desert rainforests growing out of sheer rock, thanks to water that seeps out year-round.
And the silence? It’s surreal—Zion is so acoustically pure that you can sometimes hear the Virgin River flowing from a mile away.

Pyramid Lake
Nerd facts:
Pyramid Lake gets its name from the striking Pyramid Mountain, which towers above it and mirrors perfectly on calm days. It looks like a real-life painting—and it only gets better at sunrise, when the mountain glows in soft pink and gold tones.
Pyramid Lake sits within the Jasper Dark Sky Preserve, one of the largest in the world. That means on a clear night, the sky absolutely explodes with stars.

Moraine Lake
Nerd facts:
Moraine Lake’s legendary blue? It’s actually different every day. The exact shade shifts depending on the angle of the sun, the season, and even how much glacial silt is flowing in. Locals say it has “moods,” and you’ll never see it look quite the same twice.
Btw, if you’ve seen Moraine Lake on a computer screensaver – you’re not imagining it. For years, Windows bundled the view as one of its default wallpapers, so millions of people around the world have stared at Moraine Lake every day without even knowing where it was.
Moraine Lake might be one of the most photographed lakes on the planet, but few images became as legendary as Peter McKinnon’s “Bucket Shot.”
The shot became so iconic that the Royal Canadian Mint even released a commemorative coin featuring his variation of it.
Pair that with Moraine Lake’s own claim to fame – being on the Canadian $20 bill back in 1969 – and you’ve got a lake that just can’t stay off currency.

All Squad patterns come with 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8" templates. Depending on your preferred way of stitching (aka what type of thread you're using and how many strands of it) 5" or 6" is the sweet middle ground
I stitch all Squad patterns in 3.94" Nurge hoops using single strands of DMC Stranded Cotton (Mouline Special) and re-hoop in 2.75" hoops by Hardwicke Manor for display
