embroidery artist, designer, & leathersmith
helping thousands of stitchers around the world create with confidence – one stitch at a time.
I’ve been embroidering since 2019. one of the biggest reasons it caught my eye is because of my anxiety. I’ve always struggled with feeling guilty for resting – you know that annoying feeling when you just can’t allow yourself to do something “non-productive”? embroidery quickly became my solution: productive rest.
it gave me guilt-free mental and physical downtime, while also delivering the incredible satisfaction of creating something from scratch. over time, it became much more than a hobby – it became a lifeline and a passion.
in November 2022, I took the leap and quit my day job to pursue life as a full-time embroidery artist – the biggest project of my life since moving countries. (I’m originally from Russia, but I moved to England in 2015 at 19. now, after more than a decade, England truly feels like home.)
running a creative business is a rollercoaster – equal parts stressful and joyful – but it’s also one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I’m a one-woman show, and along the way I’ve learned countless new skills, connected with amazing people, and discovered how much I love building something meaningful from the ground up.
can't stand traditional thimbles, these are miles better
I believe embroidery should be joyful, calming, and accessible – whether you’re picking up a needle for the first time or have been stitching for decades.
sadly, many first-time stitchers never discover that joy. cheap kits from Amazon or Etsy may look appealing, but poor-quality supplies and vague instructions set people up for frustration, not success. It’s like learning to play piano on an instrument with broken keys – you’ll think you’re bad at music, when really the piano never gave you a chance.
embroidery, when done with the right tools and guidance, is the opposite. Its greatest gift isn’t just the finished piece, but the calm and sense of accomplishment along the way.
In a world that feels half digital, our bodies crave something real. embroidery is the perfect craft: it balances creativity with hands-on making, giving you both peace and pride in equal measure.
for too long, embroidery has been boxed into the “practical” category. I believe it deserves to be recognized for what it truly is: an art form.
this project is currently indefinitely paused, but if you're into it, there are 12 episodes recorded over 2023-2024 season, go give it a listen. my friend Hannah and I talk about all things being a modern artist.
when I’m not designing embroidery patterns, you’ll often find me working with leather – crafting wallets, cases, and timeless pieces by hand. It’s a new venture I’m building with the same philosophy I bring to embroidery: slow, intentional, and made to last.
